tranche aigüe : ce n'est pas une erreur ou variété ! une simple distraction !

http://numismaster.com/ta/inside_numis. ... e=GlossaryWire RimA rim or border of a coin formed into a thin wire-like protrusion, occurring when excess metal being pushed out between the edge of the die and the restraining collar. Wire rims are found on a few 19th century Proof coins, and other coins struck slowly, such as some of the MCMVII (1907) High Relief double eagles. Also called
Wire Edge.wire rim: the knife edge caused when metal squeezes between the die and the collar under extreme pressure.
http://www.bestcoin.com/W-coin-collecti ... itions.htmThe
Wire Edge on some of the regular-issue High Reliefs is more of a striking anomaly than an actual variety, although they are collected as such. During the striking process, extreme pressure forces the metal of the planchet into all the recessed areas of the dies. If the diameter of the edge collar exceeds the diameter of the die, a wire edge will encircle the coin. If the die is misaligned relative to the edge collar in any direction, a wire edge will be created wherever there is a separation between the die and the edge collar.
