token A.P.& C.CORP TRONA
Re: token A.P.& C.CORP TRONA
Bonne question,

For sale, a SCARCE "RED FIBRE" 1c PENNY VARIETY "good for" trade token once used at the old "mining company store" operated by the "A.P.C. CORP"(American Potash and Chemical Co) in the desert town of Trona, California
The little mining company town of Trona, is oddly listed on internet as both INYO county and San Bernardino County California....located on old Searles Dry lake, south of Ridgecrest, east of Randsburg and not far from the entrance of Death Valley / Panamint valley. If you have ever been there...it always seems almost deserted....but was a company mining town for potash, etc. RECENTLY I SOLD THE 1C ALUMINUM VARIETY ON EBAY AS "BUY IT NOW"...OFFERED HERE IS THE 1C RED FIBRE VARIETY….A TOUGH ONE TO FIND THIS NICE
These old Trona tokens can be tough to find today. THESE EARLY "FIBRE" TOKENS ARE ESPECIALLY HARD TO FIND FROM MINING TOWNS….THEY CANNOT BE "METAL DETECTED" MANY YEARS LATER, AND DID NOT SURVIVE BEING BURIED IN A MINING CAMP "DUMP"…THIS IS A BEAUTY
Trade token is red fibre, round, about 21mm in diameter, and it displays nicely. (please see pictures in gallery) Token looks great.
While some old California desert mining tokens are found in "dug" condition, this specimen does not have that option, and is very nice
Neat PENNY "RED FIBRE" VARIETY token once used at a mining "company store" located in the little town of Trona California...mojave desert region on old Searles dry lake.
If you have ever walked the streets of trona california…….you WILL get this token.
Thanks so much for looking....collect and invest in history!!!!! Tangible assets are always the best ones.
