You will all be pleased to know that a $200,000 Bearer Cheque (emergency hyperinflation banknote) has now been issued in Zimbabwe.It gives a new meaning to the term 'banana republic'.

As long as Zimbabwe's economic situation continues to go down the pan,the Zimbabwean Bearer Cheques will continue to be of interest to British Commonwealth notaphilists like myself.

The hyperinflation will more than likely increase to the level similar to the hyperinflation that occurred in Hungary (1946),& Yugoslavia (1989-96) rather than the hyperinflation that occurred in both Austria & Germany (1922-23).

Zimbabwe is a notaphilist's paradise,despite the crackpot economic policies of the barbaric Z.A.N.U.-P.F. regime of Robert Mugabe (who is the cross between Saddam Hussein & Idi Amin - a major league nutcase!).

Zimbabwe even has Bearer Cheques for denominations as low as 1c.,which have been driven out of circulation,due to the continuing hyperinflation cause by the worsening economic situation in that troubled country.
